Things to do and see around Craig Montana
Nearly every visitor you meet in Craig is there to fish, but there are a few other activities in the area that attract visitors. If you need a day off the water or have a non-angler in your group, here's a few ideas:
Gates of the Mountains Scenic Tour
Holter Lake | See the famous "Gates of the Mountains" on Holter Lake just like Lewis and Clark did; from the water. Tours leave twice daily during the summer months.
Auto Tour | Front Range of the Rockies
Augusta | Take yourself on a guided tour of the Front Range. See the historic western town of Augusta, visit Gibson Dam and the Sun River Canyon, see a Hutterite Colony, and go for a day hike on the upper Dearborn River.
C.M. Russell Museum and Gallery
Great Falls | See the works of famous artist Charlie Russell and others at this great museum in Great Falls. Charlie's log studio sits on the grounds all set up like Charlie left it. A very popular attraction.
First Peoples Buffalo Jump
Ulm | Formerly referred to as the Ulm Pishkun, this ancient Buffalo Jump just south of Great Falls has an excellent interpretive center. A great exhibit if you're interested in Western & Native American history.
Lewis & Clark interpretive Center
Great Falls | This is one of the largest Lewis and Clark centers in the country, and is considered a must see for L&C buffs. Movies, artifacts, interpretive tours, and exhibits.
